The Steering Committee is a partnership between the Colorado Competitive Council and Colorado Chambers and Economic Development Corporations. This committee meets twice per month during the legislative session and once per month during the interim. During these meetings, Steering Committee members discuss policy matters critical to the business community and regions.

We provide the Steering Committee with a variety of resources, including:

• Assistance with Day at the Capitol

• Weekly newsletter (during the legislative session)

The Steering Committee keeps us in tune with regional business issues and community priorities, helping us communicate with area legislators to ensure we’re all speaking with one voice on key economic policies.

CHRIS ROMER

Chair of the Colorado Competitive Council’s Steering Committee

President & CEO, Vail Valley Partnership

Chris oversees general administration of the Vail Valley Partnership’s daily operations and works with local and regional stakeholders to advocate on behalf of the Vail Valley as a tourism destination and community. He is also responsible for the annual strategic plan for the organization and represents the Vail Valley on a variety of local and regional volunteer boards. Some of Chris’s community involvement includes being a Trustee for Colorado Mountain College, Chair for Tourism Industry Association of Colorado, Vice Chair for the Western Association of Chamber Executives, Governor Appointee for the Tourism Industry COVID Recovery Task Force, and much more. Chris can often be found at special events and concerts or enjoying the many recreational opportunities in the Vail Valley.

ANN HUTCHISON

Vice Chair of the Colorado Competitive Council’s Steering Committee

President & CEO, Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce

Ann became president and CEO of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 1, 2021. She started with the Chamber in 2003 as policy committee coordinator and was promoted to executive vice president in 2005. Before moving into the CEO role, Hutchison directly managed the communications and event departments, assisted in the day-to-day operation of the Chamber, and managed issues and political advocacy as well as the Chamber’s Leadership Fort Collins and Leadership Northern Colorado programs. Most recently, she has been a key leader in the community pandemic economic response, recovery and reignite efforts.
